Change the Picture of YOUR Life!

We get what we think about most of the time…

We have all been told this in many different ways throughout history and our own lives.

For example, Ask and Receive, Seek and Ye shall find, Knock and it will be opened to you (The Bible).

The movie the Secret, was all about thinking about what you wanted and getting it.

The book, Think and Grow Rich, spoke about Thinking and getting Rich, not working hard to get rich.

John Assaraf’s Book the Answer, talks about three processes we should participate in daily to achieve what we want:

Affirmations; and

What I want to talk about today, is the third item on the list – Visualisation.

We all visualise constantly in our daily lives. We think about what we are going to do, prior to doing it. Normally we do this without giving it any special attention.

However, for a long while the successful people in life, have been using focused Visualisations to more quickly and accurately achieve what they want. Visualisation is a tool that professional sports people use on a regular basis to assist them in achieving their goals.

The interesting thing is that visualisation is so powerful, because your brain can’t distinguish between you thinking something is happening and doing it in reality. Athletes have been linked to machines that monitor their muscles and then thought about performing their chosen sport. The findings were that the muscles fired as if the athlete were actually participating in the sport even whilst just Visualising the event.

SO, what does this mean for us???

What it means that if we get what we think about most of the time, and if our brain can’t distinguish between us thinking about an activity or event and actually participating, then if we visualise what we want we are a much better chance of getting it.

For most people however, visualising is not something they have actively participated in, and like most other “New Age” or different (out there ideas – basically anything not taught at school) ideas, if we aren’t shown how or understand the workings, we put it in the too hard basket and move on. Usually in a direction we aren’t ecstatic with, but what the heck!. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, can you.

The luxury of living in the current time is that the internet and globalisation, mean that many areas that were once the preserve of the very rich or high performers in their fields, are now available to everyone.

One of these areas is the area of Visualisation. There are a number of tools that are available to assist in this area. In the movie “The Secret”, John Assaraf talked about his Vision Board. This is a fixed notice board with pictures and affirmations placed on it. The board is then placed where you will see it often. The idea is that the subconscious will start taking the information in, and helping you achieve what you desire.

Another tool, is a more recent phenomenon. That is a Mind Movie. This is a collection of the pictures and affirmations that you would have on a vision board, and they are added to music and turned into a 3-5 minute “Mind Movie”.

My definition of  a mind movie, is a Vision Board on Steroids.

Watched a couple of times a day, a Mind Movie can assist you in reaching your desires a lot more quickly.

Over the last few years I have made a number of mind movies as has my daughter. They are very powerful. You can upload them to YouTube, and if you want to check out a few, that is a place to find them.
